Earthquake Support Concert at The Bedford Hotel Tavistock
A concert to raise emergency aid for New Zealand's earthquake survivors. All aspects of this concert will be provided free of charge from venue to performers, ensuring ALL the money raised will go to the official New Zealand Government Appeal Fund.
A local folk band, concert pianist, choir and soloists, amongst others, will give their performances for free and provide a wonderful evening filled with music.
Cakes will also be on sale at the event and cake donations would be most welcome, (to be delivered Sunday afternoon 13th to the Bedford Hotel) plus an auction (donations for this also gratefully received.)
Tickets will be available from Tavistock businesses - The Bedford Hotel, Crebers, Two Bridges Hotel and The Tavistock Times office. More details will follow. Please support this generous effort!

Two Bridges Hotel to attend The Tavistock Food Festival.
Tavistock Food Festival Food and Drink poster was causing quite a stir, it advertised a £1.00 off cream teas at The Bedford Hotel but the photograph was of a scone with jam on and then the cream on top! it is claimed that that is The Cornish Way as reported by The BBC. Tavistock is claimed to be the birth place of the cream tea, the Benedictine Monks used to give travellers something similar to a scone with cream and jam. You can visit our sister hotel The Bedford in Tavistock and still see The Monks Tower in The historic walled garden and enjoy a cream tea, you may even be allowed to put the cream on top.
